Environmental Day was observed in school with a small
skit on environment day. On the same day, children took
part in a ‘Sit and draw’ competition during the first
two periods. The students also watched a CD‘
Inconvenient Truth’ presented and produced by the former
Vice President of USA
Rock Climbing Course
23rd May, 2008
60 students from classes V
to VIII went to join the Rock climbing course, at
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling with
Miss C.K. Subba. They returned on the 25th May 2008.

Sports
10th May, 2008
The School Sports was held
on the 10th May 2008, at 12.30 p.m, in the School
Hockey flat.
The SDM, Kurseong (WBCS) Mr. Dibyendu Das, had
kindly consented to grace the occasion as the Chief
Guest but due to some urgent official work had to
cancel his programme. So his wife, Mrs. A. Mazumdar
obliged the school by being present in his place.
The March Past Salute was received by Mr. Parnell (Retd.
Col.), and the torch bearers handed over the torch
to him.
The Junior Inter-Team Quiz
Contest
24th April, 2008
The Junior Inter-Team Quiz
was held in the hall. Children of classes III, IV
and V participated in it. Since we know that
children love pictures, we made this quiz special
for them by including more pictures in the visual
rounds. We had pictures of female politicians,
Flags, Flowers, Animals, Birds, Films, Actor,
Actress, Monuments, International Buildings etc. to
name a few besides the question and audio records.

The Senior Inter Team Quiz

The senior Inter Team Quiz
(Classes VI to X ) was organized. On this day our
school magazine “HELENA 2007” was also inaugurated
by Sr. Eileen Lucey. The first copy was presented to
Miss S. Sharma who was the editor of the magazine.

The Senior Inter Team
English Elocution V to X was held. The competition
was divided into two categories i.e. among the
participants of classes V, VI and VII and classes
VIII, IX and X.
A Tearful Farewell
19th March, 2008
A tearful farewell was
given to the Strongest Pillar of St. Helen’s School,
Reverend Sr. Joseph Celine. A small programme was
presented by the students and teachers. St.
Vincent’s Home in Kolkota would now be Sr. J.
Celine’s new home.
